Top 4 Adaptogen Brands for Reducing Stress

About three years ago, I was going through a really stressful period trying to decide what direction I wanted to go with my career and entrepreneurial ventures. I was at a crossroads trying to figure out what I wanted in life and found myself constantly battling anxiety, panic attacks and stress.

I found out about adaptogens while listening to a podcast and started to do some research. Adaptogens are non-toxic plants that are said to help the body handle physical, chemical and/or biological stress.

In today's world we are constantly dealing with various forms or stress: alerts on our phones, the media, kids, family, bosses, work. It sometimes feels like we are in a consistent state of fighting stress. I started using adaptogens on a regular basis to help my body form a healthy response to stress instead of anxiety and panic attacks.

Here are my top 4 adaptogen brands:

Ps. All brands are small-batch, vegan + women-owned. Copina Co, the Adeptist + Drink Goldmine will be available at our February pop up! Sign up here to be the first to know our dates!

  1. Golde - If you have been following me on IG you know that I LOVE #matcha. Matcha is 100% pure green tea ground into a fine powder. Instead of steeping the leaves, when you drink matcha you are consuming the whole leaf. It is clean source of energy. One teaspoon has more caffeine than a shot of expresso without the jitters or caffeine crash! I especially love that this brand is women + Black owned!

  2. Copina Co - This brand blends their adaptogens with skin boosting plant based collagen. As a modern #minimalist, I believe in quality over quantity in all things so love that not only am I getting the stress reducing benefits of the adaptogens I am also getting skin, hair and nail benefits from the plant based collagen all in one blend. Collagen is essential for healthy skin, hair and joints but we lose the ability to produce collagen as we age. I try to drink at least one cup of their #matcha or cacao everyday! I love that the #matcha is slightly sweeter than the Golde matcha as it contains organic coconut milk powder. Their cacao blend also contains ashwaghanda a powerful adaptogen to induce calm. Cacao is said to improve blood flow to the brain and heart and lower blood pressure.

  3. The Adeptist - These beautiful blends are created by a goddess woman named Elizabeth. I found here on IG a few years ago and have supported her ever since. Each blend is a combination of adaptogens + botanicals for a specific purpose which she calls an elixir. My favorite is the detox and synergy elixir designed to reduce inflammation, nourish the gut + purify the body. It includes turmeric, one of my favorite adaptogens, combined with cinnamon, cardomom, maca, ginger and black pepper. It works to ignite your digestive fire, while nourishing the system as a whole. She also has single herb pure rose elixir that is so beautiful. Rose is known as the "mother herb" and is great for easing PMS + menopausal symptoms. All of these will be available in our Feb pop up!

  4. Drink Goldmine - I love that Goldmine was built by two women going through exactly what I was experiencing: burnout. Goldmine takes adaptogenic elixirs one step further and blends them with supermushrooms for added benefits. Mushrooms are another one of natures superfoods that help the body to become more resilient. These aren't your average mushrooms and don't taste like your traditional mushrooms either, so don't worry. I started using their immunity blend during the pandemic designed to strengthen the immune system. It included 4 different mushrooms blended with other herbs to combine stress and immune boosting benefits. Their adaptogenic powder blends 5 different adaptogenic herbs for stress management, increased mental and physical stamina and enhanced focus.

Consuming adaptogens are easy. Blended with nut mylk or water to make elixirs or lattes or added to smoothies, yogurts or teas! Try out my matcha ritual here!
